Butterfly Bridge: An Interactive Installation Bridging Technology and Human Experience
Butterfly Bridge is an interactive art installation that explores how individual human choices, technological mediation, and cross-cultural aesthetics intersect in a shared physical space. Drawing inspiration from works by Nam June Paik, Yayoi Kusama, John Cage, and Karlheinz Stockhausen, the installation engages audience footsteps as both artistic input and structural metaphor—transforming them into real-time audiovisual responses through a hybrid system of machine learning and subtractive synthesis. Rooted in themes of interconnectivity, decay, and reciprocity, the installation combines low-tech sensors with AI-driven analysis to create a continuously evolving soundscape and visual environment. By embedding Eastern and Western architectural and symbolic elements, Butterfly Bridge invites reflection on the often-unseen impact of individual actions and the ethical implications of technology in contemporary art.
