qFlo
qFlo (pronounced queue-flow) is a software program facilitating integrated control over live processing and fixed media cues during performance of live-performed electroacoustic music, also known as mixed music. With the advent of the integration of electronics with live performance, the role of the computer music designer has become integral to the realization of mixed music, fulfilling considerations in technical setup, sound mixing, software design, and musical interpretation of the composer’s wishes with respect to the role of the electronics. qFlo seeks to integrate the various use cases and needs of a composer and computer music designer into a multipurpose software. It features fixed media cue playback and continuously running live processing algorithms capturing microphone input. Playback and live processing parameters can be controlled via MIDI, OSC, or keyboard presses for preset commands, or by interpretation of parameters captured via signal processing such as pitch, amplitude, or spectra for more flexible control or generative responses.
