AbstractHuman papillomavirus (HPV) is increasingly recognized as a contributing factor in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Although HPV has a well-established role inoropharyngeal cancers, its association with OSCC is less clear, with global prevalence rates around 6%. This review explores the epidemiology, risk factors, clinical implications, and preventive strategies, highlighting the necessity for clear diagnostic and preventive approaches tailored specifically to OSCC.Keywords : HPV, oral squamous cell carcinoma, epidemiology, prevention, risk factors.
