CoPhiEditor and CoPhiViewer: Domain-Specific Tools for the Digital Scholarly Editions in the GreekSchools Project

This presentation introduces CoPhiEditor and CoPhiViewer, two complementary tools developed within the ERC GreekSchools project to advance digital scholarly editing. CoPhiEditor employs a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) to formalize editorial practices, enabling philologists to prepare critical editions while generating standardized TEI/EpiDoc XML output. It supports computer-aided tasks such as textual restoration and the management of editorial hypotheses, while fostering collaboration and interoperability. CoPhiViewer completes the workflow by providing user-friendly visualization and dissemination of editions. Together, these tools demonstrate how DSL-based approaches can integrate traditional scholarship with computational methods in the editing of ancient papyri.

CoPhiEditor employs a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) to formalize editorial practices, enabling philologists to prepare critical editions while generating standardized TEI/EpiDoc XML output.
