Comparative Study on the Prevalence of Obstetric Complications in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome from Different Ethnicities: A Systematic Review Protocol
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common gynecological endocrine disorders, affecting up to 19% of women of reproductive age. It is well known that women with PCOS have an increased risk of negative pregnancy outcomes, such as gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and hypertensive disorders. Additionally, it is known that the prevalence of PCOS, as well as associated metabolic disorders, differs among various ethnicities and geographic regions. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to investigate whether the prevalence of pregnancy complications—gestational diabetes mellitus and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy—in women with PCOS varies among different ethnic groups.
