Perspectives on Contexts and Adaptations for Cross-Reality
Recent technological advances in head-mounted displays enable seamless transitional between different degrees of reality and virtuality using consumer hardware. This so-called transitional cross-reality brings new chances, but also challenges regarding mental load through transitions and keeping mental images of currently invisible scenes. We propose to include personalisation through context-awareness to solve these issues. In this work, we discuss different perspectives on context features, such as spatial situation, experience business logic, and user’s personal preferences. We also discuss dimensions for cross-reality adaptations, including visual, audio, and haptic output.
