Supplementary Material "Dual anti-inflammatory activity of Trichilia emarginata and insights from UPLC-HRMS chemical profiling annotation"
Supplementary MaterialThe chemical profile of T. emarginata leaves in the ESI– mode revealed three main classes of metabolites: caffeoylquinic acid derivatives (mono- and dicaffeoylquinic acids), simple phenolic acids and coumarin-related structures, and highly oxygenated triterpenoids/limonoids together with fatty acid methyl esters. Phenolic acids and chlorogenic derivatives predominated in hydroalcoholic fractions (HAL, CE), while limonoids, sesquiterpenes, and other terpenes were concentrated in non-polar fractions (CHLO, ACT). These compounds are chemotaxonomic markers of the Meliaceae family and have been linked to antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cytotoxic, and insecticidal activities.
