ASCIImage Rhapsody: a Live Coding Installation-Performance
ASCIImage Rhapsody is a live coding installation-performance that was presented at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (Germany). For this work, we applied design strategies for interactive installations to live coding. ASCIImage Rhapsody uses a camera for audience participation. The camera images are ASCII-fied into ORCA code. ORCA, which is a visually interesting live coding language, then produces MIDI events, which are used to control a sound synthesis system written in SuperCollider.
