Role of SHGs to Ensure Social Security During Covid-19.

The paper describes the effect of self-help groups in India during and post covid-19situation. The study examines the potential opportunities and challenges concerning thecontextual differences across and within the countries. Self help groups have foundsuccessful in empowering its members by providing opportunities for livelihood support andincome generation during the covid-19 situation. These played a very important role duringthe covid-19 situation as half of the SHGs were involved in community awareness andinfection prevention activities in their community. The study identifies a potential mechanismin SHGs through which impact of Covid-19 could be reduced to a significant extent.
