Framework for signal-to-noise ratio estimation in fluorescence imaging systems
Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is a critical performance metric in fluorescence imaging systems, which must often detect low-intensity signals in the presence of background noise. Unlike conventional imaging, fluorescence imaging requires careful separation of signal and noise to ensure quantitative accuracy. However, standardized methods for SNR evaluation in such systems remain lacking.
