LAST MILE LOGISTICS IN KYRGYZSTAN: UNIQUE CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
The article examines the potential of Kyrgyzstan as a regional logistics and trade hub in the context of e-commerce growth. Particular attention is paid to the importance of developing last-mile logistics – the final stage of goods delivery to consumers. The author analyzes in detail the obstacles the country faces: difficult mountainous terrain, high delivery costs, uneven infrastructure development, and labor shortages. Using the example of Kyrgyz companies, the consequences of ineffective logistics are shown: decreased sales, reputational losses, and limited business growth. Measures to improve the situation are proposed – the creation of regional warehouses, the use of adapted transport, digitalization of logistics, and partnerships with local organizations. The importance of government support and the introduction of uniform standards is emphasized.
