BUSINESS ENGLISH: FROM LINGUISTIC AND DIDACTIC INNOVATIONS TOWARDS COMPETENCE AND QUALITY
The article is devoted to the urgent need to differentiate general business phraseology and phraseological terminology in order to intensify the training of economic specialists in line with the necessary competencies outlined in the work program. The paper examines the types of terms of business phraseology and its domains and suggests an algorithm for teaching phraseological terminology to students in senior courses at university economics departments. When selecting terms for research, we rely on the terminological teaching of Vladimir M. Leichik and the works on terminology by Rosemarie Gläzer. In determining whether a term belongs to a phraseological field, the method of phraseological identification proposed by the founder of English phraseology as a science, Alexander V. Kunin, is used. In determining the meaning of terms and the systemic differentiation of their paradigmatic relations, we use the method of dictionary definitions. The scope of application of the results of teaching business terminology embraces everybody from the student audience specializing in various branches of economics to postgraduates. The conclusion is made about the expediency of a three-stage terminology training based on a meaning transference of the components.
