METHODS FOR GAINING ELEVATED ACCESS IN LINUX AND THEIR IMPACT ON SECURITY
This article analyses in detail the vulnerabilities of password hashing and ways to improve administration ways in Linux systems. As a methodology of the article experiments include analysis of resistance of hashing methods to attacks using dictionary, word and letter selection, unique meanings. The article also lists scenarios of incorrectly configured files with elevated permissions, unreliable SSH key storage and systematic effects. The findings showed that old hashing routes are safe from rapid hacking. More secure cryptographic methodologies make the outflow was found as a defenceless aspect, but threats without an appropriate and necessary methods make the attack much harder. During the analysis of various ways to increase the benefit, online access method remains relevant. The acquired information demonstrated the importance of implementing real working methods of authentication and the proper use of administration contacts. Further study could be comprehensive and complex development of the methodology to combine automated attack prevention and building an adaptive system, as well as improvement of cryptographic algorithms.
