Causes of Students Unrest at University Level

The research discusses the causes of students’ unrest at university level. The objectives of the study were to determine the students’ unrest and examine the causes of students’ unrest. To achieve the objectives, a descriptive method was adopted and data was collected via survey of 110 respondents comprises of students of department of English in university. The data analysis was performed using frequencies and percentages. Findings indicated that the students’ scholarships and residential issues seem to be troubling the students at the university. The other issue that emerged in the university is the improper infrastructure of the university. Lack of educational resources and insufficient relevant books in the library is another burning issue. This study also indicated that students’ unrest was due to the out dated curriculum, inadequate transportation, teachers’ biased attitudes, strict examination rules and examination fever.
