Comparative analysis of spectral algorithms for estimation of deterministic signal parameters
Formulation of the problem. Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is one of the main characteristics that allows to evaluate the current state of radio electronic systems. All other things being equal, SNR determines the accuracy of signal parameter measurement and the quality of transmitted and received information, which is why it is important to accurately evaluate its current value [1–3]. Separate evaluation of the parameters of the deterministic and fluctuation components of the input mixture allows to solve this problem [3]. Estimation of the signal’s amplitude using spectral-weighting processing will allow obtaining a more accurate estimate of the SNR. This paper presents algorithms based on the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) [4] and the spectral-weighting estimation algorithm [5–7] for obtaining the parameters of a deterministic signal using weighting of the implementation by a weighting function (WF). Target – to study the accuracy of the algorithm for measuring the parameters of the signal being determined based on the discrete Fourier transform and spectral-weight processing. Two algorithms based on DFT with and without the use of WF are presented. The parameters of the input implementation are estimated using the considered algorithms. The results of the comparative analysis are presented and conclusions are made about the significant positive effect of spectral-weight processing on the accuracy of estimating the parameters of the discrete implementation of a deterministic signal under the considered conditions. The spectral-weighting method allows to significantly increase the accuracy of estimation of the input implementation parameters, which allows to use it for estimation of the SNR in the strong signal mode, as well as for obtaining and estimation of the necessary characteristics in various radio electronic systems.
