Resilience Evaluation of Existing Metro Stations Considering Adjacent Construction Disturbance Intensity: Methodology and Application

Existing metro stations (EMSs) are increasingly subject to disturbances from adjacent construction activities, posing significant threats to their operational safety. Resilience of EMSs throughout the disaster chain is a critical metric for evaluating the impact of such disturbances on structure performance. However, current evaluation methods fail to account for the varying intensity of disturbances from adjacent construction, complicating the accurate assessment of resilience for EMSs. To address it, this paper integrates adaptive cycle theory with the characteristics of disaster chain evolution to define metro station resilience. A comprehensive evaluation framework for metro station resilience under adjacent construction disturbances (ACDs) is proposed, incorporating disturbance intensity as a key factor. This framework involves constructing a correlation matrix based on proximity zones and geological conditions, along with the establishment of a grading system for disturbance intensity. Triangular fuzzy numbers are employed to quantify the disturbance intensity coefficient. Additionally, key performance indicators and their calculation methods are introduced, along with the determination of resilience grading standards. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is validated through a case study. Findings of this study provide a theoretical reference for resilience research and protection of EMSs subjected to ACDs.
