The polysemy of final markers (based on the Russian and ancient Greek usage)

The polysemy of final markers (based on the Russian and ancientGreek usage)The article analyzes the semantics of the Russian conjunction , which is used both in final and complement subordinate clauses with a volitional component of meaning, introduces various quasi-final constructions, constructions of other implicative meanings, as well as constructions with conjunctive or adversative relations between clauses.Using several constructions of ancient Greek, as well as modern Greek and French as an example, it is shown that the array of peripheral meanings of the conjunction have parallels in other languages and can be taken into account when studying the models of polysemy of final markers in the languages of the world, in particular, for making typological questionnaires.
