Candolleomyces singeri D. Wacht. & A. Melzer 2020

(3.7) Candolleomyces singeri complex Notes:— In the ITS-only phylogeny (Fig. 4B), five collections of ours and 13 collections representing seven legitimately proposed species established a large, heterogenous monophyletic group difficult for subdivision with significant support. In the four-locus phylogeny (Fig. 4A), this group was represented by nine collections with significant support. The two phylogenies together suggest a large species complex comprising seven legitimately proposed species, referred to as the Candolleomyces singeri complex in this study, characterized by basidiomata with a brownish pileus and palely colored basidiospores, as well as a terrestrial to lignicolous habit. Legitimately proposed species recognized in this complex:— Cd. aberdarensis (A. Melzer, Kimani & R. Ullrich) D. Wächt. & A. Melzer (2020, holotype sequenced), Cd. eurysporus A. Karich, E. Abstract

Karich, E. Büttner & R. Ullrich (2020, holotype sequenced), Cd. kotadduensis Haqnawaz & Niazi (2024, holotype sequenced), Cd. ruhunensis A.N. Ediriweera, Voto, Karun. & Kumla (2023, holotype sequenced), Cd. singeri (A.H. Sm.) D. Wächt. & A. Melzer (2020), Cd. subminutisporus T. Bau & J.Q. Yan (2021, holotype sequenced), and Cd. sulcatotuberculosus (J. Favre) D. Wächt. & A. Melzer (2020). Collections sequenced in this study:— China, Guangdong Province, Guangzhou City, elevation 5 m, 2024, Jia Y.
