ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN VIDEFLUOROSCOPIC SWALLOWING STUDY ANALYSIS: TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS AND IMPACTS FOR SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY PRACTICE
This scoping review aims to map current evidence on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Studies (VFSS). The focus is on AI techniques such as machine learning and deep learning applied to segmentation, clinical event detection, and temporal parameters. By synthesizing recent findings, the review seeks to identify technological advances, knowledge gaps, and implications for clinical practice in speech-language pathology, particularly in the assessment and management of dysphagia.
