Pengaruh Konsentrasi NaOH dan Waktu Proses Kostikasi Terhadap Pengurangan Massa Serat Daun Nanas

This study aims to explore the effect of NaOH concentration and costication process time on the reductionof pineapple leaf fiber mass as an alternative environmentally friendly textile raw material. The costicationprocess is carried out using NaOH solution at various concentrations and times to decompose pectin andhemicellulose compounds that bind the fiber. The results showed that increasing NaOH concentration andcostication process time had a significant effect on fiber mass reduction. Higher NaOH concentrations andlonger times reduced greater mass reduction, with the highest effectiveness recorded at a concentration of7.5 g/L and a time of 600 seconds. The regression value showed a positive relationship between NaOHconcentration and its effectiveness in reducing fiber mass, as well as a negative relationship betweenprocess time and its effectiveness. This study contributes to the development of pineapple leaf fiber as anenvironmentally friendly textile raw material.
