ELECTIVE COURSE «BUSINESS ENGLISH FOR ENGINEERS» AS A WAY OF FUTURE SPECIALISTS’ FORMATION OF OIL AND GAS REGION

The article substantiates the importance of «Foreign Language» discipline in higher education for future specialists of oil and gas sphere. Despite the geopolitical situation, the article points out the importance of learning English for future university graduates. The necessity of the elective course«Business English for Engineers» at the bachelor's degree level is emphasized on the basis of literature analysis and questionnaire survey of students. The description of the course content according to the survey of students is given. The article includes organizational and methodological support of the elective course: program, textbook «Business English for Engineers», measurement tools. The article characterizes the course based on the competence approach and the principles of interdisciplinary and professional orientation. The description of the principles of interdisciplinary and professional orientation is given. Motivating factors of the elective course are presented for foreign language teaching at the undergraduate level and motivating factors of the elective course «Business English for Engineers» are revealed according to the questionnaire of students.
