Vad fungerar egentligen? : En kvantitativ studie med kvalitativa inslag om organisatoriska aspekters påverkan på förskollärares upplevda stress.

This study examines how organizational factors influence preschool teachers’ perceived stress, with a particular focus on the relationship between job demands, resources, and well-being. Drawing on the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) model, the study analyzes to what extent organizational support can function as a protective buffer in a highdemand work environment. The study employs a primarily quantitative research design and is based on a web-based survey distributed to preschool teachers in Sweden. The survey includes Likert scale items, ranking tasks, and one open-ended question, enabling both statistical analysis and qualitative interpretation. The results show a clear correlation between perceived organizational support and lower stress levels, particularly in situations where job demands are high. The findings indicate that access to structural support may contribute to a more sustainable work situation in preschool settings. At the same time, the results reveal a discrepancy between what participants perceive as important and what statistically makes a difference, highlighting the importance of understanding work environment issues through both quantitative and qualitative lenses. The study also relates the findings to international research and discusses how sustainable organizational development can help more preschool teachers remain in the profession over time.
