La incidencia del discurso del amo sobre la demanda de atención psicológica de familiares de niños hospitalizados
The objective of this research was to analyze how the master’s discourse, as a categorical imperative, within the hospital setting influences the absence of psychological care demands by the relatives of hospitalized patients. A descriptive approach with an interpretative method was used, justified by its ability to explore the subjective meaning of phenomena and discourses that emerge in institutional contexts. The methodology included a bibliographic review and structured interviews with clinical psychologists, who contributed their experience regarding the dynamics that take place within hospitals. The results show that the master’s discourse generates a form of alienation in relatives in relation to the doctor’s word, placing them in a passive position within the hospital system. In medical practice, this results in the reduction of relatives to silenced "companions" who do not request psychological care, even when facing a significant emotional burden. In conclusion, the master’s discourse has a profound impact on the relationship between relatives, health professionals, and the hospital institution, highlighting the need to transform the way psychological services are offered in hospitals to make them more visible and accessible.
