La Inteligencia Emocional y su Impacto en el Rendimiento Académico de los Estudiantes

The development of emotional intelligence in students has become a key factor to improve academic performance in school contexts. This research recognizes the need to link the emotional and cognitive spheres in order to consolidate meaningful learning and strengthen the integral wellbeing of the learner. The main objective was to analyze the impact of emotional intelligence on students' academic performance. The methodology applied was qualitative, with a descriptive-exploratory approach and bibliographic design; the analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive method was also employed, using the documentary analysis technique from recent scientific sources. The results show a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and academic performance; emotional self-regulation, empathy, motivation and emotional awareness were identified as key components. The proposed strategies include reflection activities, peer mentoring, dramatization and emotional planning, applicable in public and private institutions. It is concluded that an emotionally intelligent education improves learning, school climate and coexistence.
