Relación entre la potencia muscular y la agilidad motriz en practicantes pre-juveniles de deportes de combate: fundamentos para un rendimiento óptimo

This study analyzes the influence of power training on motor agility in pre-youth boxers, a key stage in physical-sport development. Motor agility, essential in boxing, enables fast movements, precise changes of direction, and effective dodging. A quasi-experimental methodology with a descriptive and cross-sectional approach was applied, using a pre- and post-test design on a sample of eight boxers from the Chimborazo Sports Federation. The main instrument was a validated agility test, designed to assess motor skills through an obstacle circuit. The intervention consisted of an adapted power training program, and the data were analyzed using Excel 365 and SPSS 25, employing measures of central tendency, normality tests, and paired tests. The results showed a significant improvement in the participants' motor agility, evidenced by the increase in post-intervention scores and the normal distribution of the data. The test average rose from 8.08 to 9.44 points. These findings support the effectiveness of power training as a strategy to optimize physical performance in young boxers, providing useful evidence for coaches and sports professionals interested in enhancing agility as a key skill in combat sports.
