Docencia en la era digital: desafíos de la formación tecnológica para una educación inclusiva

This study explores the significance of teacher training in educational technologies within a context where digital literacy is increasingly essential. Conducted at the National University of Loja, Ecuador, between January and June 2024, it involved 71 students from the Pedagogy of Experimental Sciences – Computer Science program. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through online surveys and analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Findings show that 90.1% of students believe that training enhances teaching quality, and 88.7% acknowledge that integrating ICT facilitates their learning. Key digital competencies valued in educators include digital content creation and effective use of online platforms. The most cited challenge was insufficient technological infrastructure (56.3%). The study highlights the need for ongoing professional development and institutional support to overcome barriers and foster a more personalized, collaborative, and digitally inclusive learning environment.
