Tratamiento de Coledocolitiasis mediante CPRE en Centro de Salud de Tercer Nivel Durante el 2023

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has gained popularity as both a diagnostic and therapeutic technique for the treatment of choledocholithiasis, allowing for the removal of stones with a high success rate. However, acute biliary pancreatitis is considered a complication secondary to gallstones, causing obstruction of the biliary and pancreatic ducts. In light of this, the theoretical aspects related to the utility and complications associated with the use of ERCP in choledocholithiasis are updated and described. The objective was to analyze the effectiveness of choledocholithiasis treatment using ERCP in a tertiary care center. The methodology employed was descriptive, cross-sectional, and observational with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Medical records provided by the IESS General Hospital were used as the primary data source. The study population consisted of 134 individuals who were treated during the year 2023. Of the total population, 20.1% were between the ages of 41 and 48, with a predominance of male patients at 50.7%. Choledocholithiasis with biliary pancreatitis was the most commonly diagnosed condition, with a prevalence of 61.2%, distributed as 32.8% among males and 28.4% among females. In conclusion, the findings reflect that middle-aged patients
