Usuaria post operada de cáncer de mama desde una perspectiva transcultural: Caso clínico
We are made up of cells that grow and reproduce in a controlled manner; cancer arises when something goes wrong in this process. Breast cancer is the most prevalent type and the leading cause of death among women aged 60 and older. Caring for a patient with breast cancer requires a holistic approach that addresses physical, emotional, and social aspects to improve her quality of life and overall well-being. These care practices must be personalized and take into account the patient's beliefs, values, and cultural practices. Leininger’s Transcultural Nursing theory focuses on care that is grounded in beliefs and values, offering culturally congruent care. The aim of this work is to develop care plans based on interculturality. The study is based on the Nursing Process (PAE) methodology, supported by Leininger’s model, and nursing care plans structured using the NNN interrelationship, focusing on resolving alterations caused by environmental changes, relocation, body image acceptance, health risk education and promotion, support for self-acceptance, and improvement of family relationships. This approach provides nursing professionals with a respectful care perspective that honors the patient's cultural beliefs and background.
