his study is part of the planning of pedagogical activities that lead to the comprehensive management of solid waste, given the effect they have on ecosystems and human health. The research developed proposes the promotion of pedagogical strategies for the responsible management of solid waste at the Manuel Salvador Meza Camargo educational institution. Sabanas de San Ángel; Magdalena; in which the objective is: To design a pedagogical proposal that contains elements of socio-environmental education, to promote significant improvements in the collection and classification processes of solid waste. To support the research, theoretical references related to pedagogical strategies and environmental education proposed by authors such as (Tobón, 2004) and (Rodríguez and Betancourt, 2022) are taken into account. The study is based on participatory action research, with a mixed approach; The study selected students aged 8 to 16, considering a seventh-grade group as a sample. A survey and participatory observation were used as data collection instruments. The research results indicate that there are serious challenges related to environmental education and waste management in the educational community; however, the implementation of effective pedagogical strategies and the strengthening of educational programs generate environmental literacy among students, as well as a change in solid waste management and quality in the educational environment.
