Organización microespacial de los servicios de consumo inmediato en la zona metropolitana de la ciudad de México, 1993-2018

Abstract: As a hypothesis the territorial organization of service in non-durable consume has been transformed because of a technified production in the metropolises at the beginning of century. The objective is to analyze of the evolution of the microspatial configuration of this type of activity from 1993 to 2018 to contribute to build a longitudinal model of urban structure. This objective is reached by the study of the economic concentration identified by the gross domestic product, to define the predominant patterns and their changes in the analyzed period. This examination is achieved through the Hoover Index and the “shift & share” technique. The results show spatial configuration generated because of the transition of the monocentric to polycentric models which structure was expressed as a disperse distribution. It is interesting to observe the persistent densime- tric pattern from an inexistent urban center. This fenomenon was named as a “phantom factor”. The trajectory of the microspatial organization of this kind of services shows a segmentation logic of highly specialized subcenters, breaking down the traditional Central Place Theory model.
