The Strength of BNP's Unity under Tarique Rahman's Leadership and the Seeds of the July Revolution

This study analyzes the significance of leadership loyalty and organizational cohesion in the endurance and resilience of political movements, specifically focusing on the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) under Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. In the past sixteen years, BNP has encountered systemic repression, political marginalization, and internal difficulties. Nonetheless, the party has persisted and maintained its organizational strength primarily due to the discipline, dedication, and vision of its leadership. This paper contends that Tarique Rahman's leadership has not only preserved the BNP but has also prompted the July Revolution, representing a new democratic resurgence.
