Open Science Community Pelotas

The Open Science Community Pelotas is a collaborative group dedicated to engaging with and supporting the adoption of Open Science principles and practices in research. Our goal is to promote open science by fostering communication and collaboration across institutions, disciplines, and contexts committed to making scientific knowledge accessible and usable. How do we do this? Through workshops, seminars, and collaborative projects, we aim to inspire and empower individuals—researchers, students, and professionals from any field—to contribute to and benefit from Open Science. Our community is open to anyone interested in advancing Open Science, regardless of background or level of experience. Why is this important? By promoting these connections, we seek to raise awareness, simplify the implementation of Open Science, and support knowledge transfer. Our mission is to break down traditional barriers in scientific research, fostering transparency, reproducibility, and shared learning. This means: Open access to data, methods, and findings. Scientific resources available to everyone who seeks them. Democratization of research through open-access tools. Contributions from a global network of collaborators. Beyond academia! We also prioritize education and outreach, taking Open Science practices beyond the academic environment Our goal is to engage society as a whole, ensuring that research is conducted with integrity and that its benefits are widely shared.
