The effectiveness of shockwave treatment compared to other conservative treatments in lateral epicondylitis: a systematic review

A systematic review of the literature comparing the effectiveness of shockwave therapy versus other conservative treatment approaches in lateral epicondylitis. Despite there are many positive results reported in clinical trials on the treatment of lateral epicondylitis with shock waves, there are no published reviews comparing the effects of this treatment approach with all other forms of conservative treatment. Therefore, this study is justified by the need to determine whether shock wave treatment is more effective than other forms of conservative treatment for lateral epicondylitis. The objective of this study is to determine whether shockwave treatment is associated with better pain and function outcomes compared to other conservative treatment approaches in patients with lateral epicondylitis.
