Archaeological Monitoring & Recording at Plough Hill Farm, Potterhanworth Booths, Lincolnshire
A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was mounted on the groundworks for the construction of four new residential dwellings (Plots 1-4). The monitored groundworks comprised the mechanical excavation of the foundations for the new dwellings along within mechanical ground reduction within each of the new build interiors. No archaeological activity was identified on this site and there were no finds. The findings comprised a site deposit sequence of a modern made ground horizon, which was the product of the recent demolition and site clearance of former farm outbuildings, which had stood on this site, a topsoil horizon and a natural horizon of mostly sands. Two areas of modern disturbance along with a modern land drain were the only other findings.
