Digital Transformation Strategies for Small and Medium Industries: Lessons from Mentor Soft Web Implementation
Digital transformation (DT) is a strategic imperative for the survival and competitiveness of small and medium-sized industries (SMIs) in the current economic landscape. This article presents a systematic literature review on DT strategies and the adoption of Software as a Service (SaaS) based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems by SMIs. We analyze the main challenges and critical success factors identified in the literature and integrate these findings with potential lessons from the implementation of Mentor Soft Web, a SaaS ERP aiming to serve 800 companies in the coming years. The scalability, technological accessibility, and business modernization provided by solutions like Mentor Soft Web are highly relevant for strengthening SMI operations, including in the context of public policies, such as those in the USA. This study contributes to the understanding of how SMIs can leverage DT through SaaS solutions, overcoming barriers and driving growth and innovation.
