INVESTIGATION ON TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF ALUMINUM ALLOY AA8011 METAL MATRIX COMPOSITE REINFORCED WITH BAGASSE ASH AND E-GLASS FIBER
This study investigates the tribological performance of AA8011 aluminum alloy composites reinforced with Bagasse Ash (BA) and E-Glass Fiber (EGF). Stir casting was used to fabricate the composites with three reinforcement ratios:2% Bagasse ash+2%E-Glass Fiber, 4% Bagasse ash+4%E-Glass Fiber, 6% Bagasse ash+6%E-Glass Fiber.Pin-on-disc tests under dry conditions evaluated wear rate and coefficient of friction. Wear resistance improved and friction coefficient decreased with higher reinforcement content, Taguchi method and Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) were used to identify the optimal combination of process parameters.
