Diogenes von Babylon als Lehrer des Dardanos und Panaitios in einer Schülerliste des Antipatros (Philod., Ind. Stoic., Kol. 53)
The article provides a new edition of Philodemus’ [Index Stoicorum], PHerc. 1018, col. 53, which contains a list of pupils of the Stoic scholarch Antipater. So far, the text had been reconstructed to the effect that Dardanus heard also the lectures of Antipater in Athens, what represented a rather redundant and puzzling information. Now, new readings allow for the more plausible reconstruction that Dardanus had heard Diogenes of Babylon earlier (to Antipater), and thereby clarify the use of a past perfect in the additional information on Panaetius of Rhodes. Further re-read passages reveal for the first time the origins of two other pupils of Antipater.
