Біографічна традиція в українській музичній культурі: темпоральний аспект

The purpose of the article is to study the formation and evolution of the biographical tradition in Ukrainian music, to determine its impact on national identity and cultural memory. To achieve this goal, a number of tasks were performed: the essence of the concepts of “biography” and “biographical tradition” was defined; the main stages of the development of the biographical tradition in Ukrainian musical culture were identified; biographies of prominent Ukrainian musicians of different historical periods were analyzed; the role of biographical research in the formation of national identity was investigated; recommendations for further research and practical application of the biographical tradition in Ukrainian musical culture were given. Research methodology. The study used general scientific methods of cognition: analysis, synthesis, systematization and generalization. Scientific novelty. The study is the first to examine the biographical tradition in Ukrainian musical culture through the prism of its historical development and connection with the formation of national identity. The novelty of the work lies in a comprehensive approach to analyzing the biographies of prominent Ukrainian musicians, including the study of the influence of social, political, and cultural factors on their work. This allowed us to reveal the role of the biographical tradition not only as a means of documenting individual achievements, but also as an important tool for cultural renewal and preservation of national memory in modern conditions. Conclusions. The study has shown that the biographical tradition plays an important role in shaping the cultural identity of the nation and serves as a source of deeper understanding of the development of Ukrainian music. The analysis of the biographies of Ukrainian composers has shown that their work reflects both individual searches and collective experience, including the social and political conditions in which they worked. It is recommended to continue researching the life and work of contemporary Ukrainian musicians who transform the traditions of their predecessors; to expand cultural exchanges to strengthen the international status of Ukrainian musical heritage
