Research Methodology UAP Patterns and Indications 1945-1975 Intentions Study

This paper presents the methodology used for a four-phase research project conducted by the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) Intentions Study team. The four phases of the project collected and analyzed data for Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) in the United States associated with specific types of UAP activity observed during the period 1945-1975. The collection and analysis adhered to a curation standard, which included: 1) official report to military, law enforcement, or an entity that drafted a written report within one year, 2) report must contain sufficient detail to include the approximate date, time, location, and description of the encounter, 3) detail for the incident contained elements that were anomalous relating to structure, flight characteristics, and/or occupants associated with a UAP, 4) investigation must be conducted by an independent entity, to include efforts to establish eyewitness testimony, photographic/video evidence, instrumented data, and physical evidence, 5) Witnesses were military personnel, civilians employed by military organizations, government employees, aircraft pilots and civilians filing a report with law enforcement.
