Thongurai Saengtham: Buddharaksa Auspicious Garden at Alinda Garden
Thongurai (Tecoma stans) is an ornamental flowering tree with auspicious significance, symbolically associated with Buddhist virtues. Its cultivation at Wat Pa Phu Saeng Thong Phieng Fah and the Buddharaksa Community Forest, under the Alinda Garden Project managed by the Buddhist Moral Promotion Unit (BMPU), reflects the promotion of “Dharma spaces,” green areas and spaces for well-being. This article describes the cultural significance, planting methods, maintenance practices and the role of Thongurai in fostering moral communities. It also presents guidelines for Buddhist-inspired garden design to support moral and environmental development.
