Abstract. The dynamics of a simple pendulum were explored through both mathematical modeling and numerical simulation. The results were compared with the analytical solution obtained from the small-angle approximation, which models the pendulum as a simple harmonic oscillator. The simulated data exhibited strong agreement with the theoretical prediction, yielding a coefficient of determination R² = 0.9989, and confirmed the expected period of approximately 2.0 s for a pendulum of length 1.0 m. Subtle deviations from sinusoidal motion were observed, a consequence of limitations of the small-angle approximation and the nonlinear nature of the system.
