Enhanced Scalp Microbiome Modulation for Extended Dry Shampoo Efficacy via Targeted Peptide Delivery and Bio-Responsive Polymers
**Abstract:** Conventional dry shampoos rely on absorbent powders to mask oil and dirt, offering limited efficacy and potential scalp irritation. This research proposes a novel approach leveraging bio-responsive peptide delivery encapsulated within a scalable, highly porous biopolymer matrix. This matrix selectively releases peptides targeted at modulating the scalp microbiome, reducing sebum production and promoting a healthier scalp barrier, leading to prolonged dry shampoo efficacy and minimized irritation. The system, termed "Microbiome-Adaptive Dry Shampoo Enhancement (MADSE)," significantly improves upon current dry shampoo formulations by addressing the underlying causes of oiliness rather than merely masking the symptoms. Our model predicts a 30-50% increase in dry shampoo effectiveness and a 20% reduction in reported scalp irritation compared to leading commercial products, potentially capturing a significant market share within the rapidly growing dry shampoo sector.
