Avaliação do rendimento e dos componentes de rendimento de diferentes cultivares de tomate (Solanum lycopersicum L.) em Moçambique
This study aimed to compare the yield and yield components of different tomato cultivars (Solanum lycopersicumL.). The experiment was conducted at the Save University Cam-pus -Massinga Extension, Inhambane, Mozambique. A randomized complete block de-sign (RCBD) with three blocks and 10 cultivars was used. During the experiment, the days to flowering, days to first maturation, days to full maturation, plant height, average fruit diameter, average fruit length, number of commercial fruits, number of non-com-mercial fruits, average weight of commercial fruits, commercial yield, and total yield were compared. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey’s test at 5% significance level were performed for mean comparison, where variations among the cultivars were rec-orded for all the parameters. The Mariana cultivar showed the highest commercial and total yield, as well as the greatest fruit length and average diameter. Correlation and re-gression analyses indicated that higher commercial yield was associated with higher total yield, days to flowering, plant height, number and weight of commercial fruits.
