La transformación digital en la administración pública: Evolución y tendencias de investigación
Digital transformation in public administration has taken on a strategic role at the global level, revolutionizing the way government institutions operate and interact with citizens. This process has driven significant improvements in the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of public services, promoting greater citizen participation and optimization of available resources. This research analyzes the evolution and research trends on digital transformation in the public sector, using a bibliometric approach based on Scopus data. 5077 related publications were identified, highlighting a significant growth in scientific production in recent years, driven by technological advances and disruptive events such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The results show a thematic transition from initial approaches focused on e-government and the digitalization of basic processes to more advanced areas such as artificial intelligence, digital governance and sustainability. Through the analysis of collaborative networks, key authors, institutions and countries in the research were identified. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy are leading the global collaboration, while emerging countries such as Ecuador and Peru are showing growing interest. In addition, research perspectives were classified into six main clusters, covering topics such as semantic ontologies, open data, and the creation of public value through innovative digital strategies. This study provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of research on digital transformation in public administration.
