Ceremonias religiosas y políticas: las visitas y entradas regias de Isabel la Católica en la comedia con referencias indianas Todo es dar en una cosa, de Tirso de Molina
During the reign of the Catholic Monarchs, royal visits and entrances were given a marked theatrical character in which political and religious aspects intermingled. Due to this and the importance of Isabella and Ferdinand in the historical development of Spain, playwrights of the Golden Age incorporated them into their works as models of rulers and for the exaltation of the Spanish nation. In Todo es dar en una cosa, a play written by Tirso de Molina and dedicated to the conqueror Francisco Pizarro, there is an allusion to a visit by the kings to Guadalupe and their subsequent entrance into Trujillo, places of political-religious relevance in the last quarter of the 15th century. Isabella also appears on stage in a performance that matches her mythologized image: a firm defender of the Catholic faith and a guarantor of justice and peace.
