This article examines the impact of decentralized and secure technological solutions on the integrity of electoral processes, focusing on the use of emerging technologies, such as blockchain and e-voting, to strengthen democracy. In a global context where democracies face significant challenges, such as disinformation, electoral fraud, and growing distrust in political institutions, technological innovations are presented as a transformative response. Throughout the article, the opportunities offered by these technologies to improve the transparency and security of elections are explored, as well as the risks associated with their implementation. In particular, the study highlights the importance of adequate regulation to ensure the ethical and equitable adoption of technological solutions in electoral systems. Through a comprehensive literature review, various initiatives using decentralized technologies are identified, which could increase citizens' trust in electoral results, improve democratic participation, and reduce the risks of manipulation. However, the article also analyses inherent challenges, such as the digital divide and unequal access to these technologies, proposing that digital inclusion must be a priority to ensure that all citizens can fully participate in democratic processes. Finally, the article highlights the need for a balanced approach that combines technological innovation and social responsibility to ensure integrity and trust in the electoral systems of the future.
