In this paper we’ll try to deepen in the figure of the lawyer of the minor who intervenes in the juvenile criminal jurisdiction. In light of the provisions of Directive 2013/48/EU of 22 October 2013 on the right to the assistance of counsel in criminal proceedings, which has been transposed into our system but without taking into account the peculiarities that may occur in the field of juvenile justice, and the provisions of Directive 2016/800/EU of 11 May 2016, we will focus on the aspects of most relevance at this time to ensure the right of defense of juvenile offenders with specific proposals for improvement.
