El neoliberalismo como racionalidad gubernamental: Aportes teóricos y desplazamientos

The article reconstructs certain studies that propose a shift from neoliberalism as a set of economic policies or an ideology that liberates the market to restore profitability for the capitalist class, to the conception of neoliberalism as a governmental rationality, based on the contributions of Michel Foucault. Theoretical contributions and theshifts that occur when adopting this notion of neoliberalism are analyzed: comparisons with classical liberalism, the role of the State and its relationship with the market, the construction of the neoliberal subject as an entrepreneur of their own existence, financialization, and the impact of neoliberalism on political life, including the destruction of basic elements of democracy.
