La danza como expresión cultural y su impacto en el desarrollo cognitivo

In a globalized world, modern dynamics have relegated traditional artistic expressions such as dance, affecting the connection with cultural roots essential to collective identity. Simultaneously, challenges such as decreased attention, memory and creativity in children and youth have increased due to digital stimuli and lack of meaningful activities. Although dance is recognized for its positive impact on physical and emotional health, there are few detailed studies on its influence on cognitive skills such as memory, attention and creativity. A specific approach to explain the mechanisms and strategies that enhance these benefits is still lacking. The objective of this research is to analyze how dance as a cultural expression impacts cognitive development and to propose strategies to maximize its benefits in educational contexts. The study adopted a qualitative approach through a review of scientific literature. Information was gathered from articles, books and technical reports, analyzing how dance contributes to cognitive and cultural development in a comprehensive manner. Dance is an educational tool that fosters cognitive, physical and emotional skills, promotes inclusion and strengthens cultural identity. Its integration in educational contexts enhances its impact on the integral development of individuals and preserves cultural diversity.
