O papel da sociologia da educaçao na formação docente em Portugal: entrevista com Mariana Gaio Alves

Interview with Professor Mariana Gaio Alves, professor at the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon (IE-ULisboa), focusing on the debate about initial teacher training in the Portuguese context and the times, spaces and role of the Sociology of Education in such training. The social, historical and political specificities of teacher training in Portugal are viewed here from the perspective of the contemporary challenges that have emerged in the relationships established between the University and Basic Education in the task of materializing a critical training aligned with democratic principles in times of advancing neoconservatism.
